performance in English with Italian surtitles

Gunilla Heilborn, in Italy for the first time, is one of the most renowned Swedish choreographers. Her works, which have toured internationally, portray the everyday through the lenses of subtle satire. This is not a love story is the story of two reluctant heroes, Kowalski and Vera. On stage, they talk, dance and never stop asking questions. Revisiting the road movie aesthetics, this ironic and introspective performance is about a journey that keeps starting over. The story is told with disarming simplicity and laconic humour. References and allusions constantly break theatrical illusion and offer a witty commentary on the superficiality of today’s world. The duo’s dance is poetic, exquisitely pure and without artifice. This is one of the most appreciated pieces at recent international festivals.
